Dr. Frank Conaty

Frank Conaty is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and a faculty member at the J. E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics (Cairnes School) at the University of Galway. After twenty years in professional practice and senior corporate management, he moved to academia specialising in auditing, governance, and organisational performance. Frank’s background in community and non-profit organisations has been informed by his family experience of disability and included six years on the board and as chairman of the National Parents & Siblings Alliance, a national disability rights and advocacy organisation. He was the founding member of a number of Galway based disability advocacy organisations.

Frank graduated from University College Galway with a Bachelor of Commerce before completing his professional studies with Chartered Accountants Ireland and in 2019 he was conferred with a PhD at National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG). He is a member of the Whitaker Research Institute at the Cairnes School. His primary area of investigation is on performance management in the provision of personal support services by non-profit organisations. He is also an affiliate faculty member of Centre for Disability Law and Policy at University of Galway.
