NHRI Capacity Development Partnership Project

The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission has led a project for the past number of years to strengthen the capacity of NHRIs in Sierra Leone and Malawai in their remit to protect and promote human rights. This project is supported by Irish Aid and encourages exchange of good practices and joint initiatives that support the day-to-day running of an NHRI and its engagement with the wider community.

Part of the NHRI Capacity Development Partnership Project involved delivering training on Research and Report Writing to the Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone (HRCSL). Most recently, in Freetown, Sierra Leone Dr. Andrea Breslin and Hannah Grene facilitated a two day training workshop for the Commission and Staff for HRCSL.

This partnership continues this week in the IHREC with a professional learning exchange visit by Mr. Frederick Kamara, Director of Human Rights Education from the Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone. Mr. Kamara has a busy schedule of activities this week, we hope they are rewarding, fruitful and we warmly welcome him to the IHREC.
