Betty Purcell

betty-purcellBetty Purcell is a freelance television producer and media consultant. Previously Betty worked as a Senior Television Producer with RTE and over 33 years has produced radio and television programmes including Women Today, Day by Day, Questions and Answers, Divided World, the Late Late Show and Farrell and The Works. Previously she reported for NBC Radio (USA) from Nicaragua in 1986 and produced an acclaimed television documentary on Mary Robinson and Human Rights in 2008.  Betty has written a book on broadcasting Inside RTE (New Island, April 2014) and on Nicaragua Light After Darkness (Attic Press, 1987). Betty was a founding member of the Irish Women’s Movement and Irish Women United in the 1970s.
