The Board of the Equality Authority having fulfilled the terms set out under the Employment Equality Acts has appointed Richard Fallon as Acting Chief Executive Officer. The Act empowers the Authority to appoint a member of its staff to fulfil this important role in the event of an absence or vacancy, and agreed that Mr Fallon, the Authority’s serving Head of Administration, would act in the capacity for the next three months.
Richard Fallon has been directly involved in implementing the decentralisation process begun at the Authority over three years ago, and has had responsibility for the administration of budgetary matters. His appointment was confirmed by the Board with the support of the senior management team.
