Appointment of Judge Maureen Harding Clark to the Human Rights Commission

Statement of Dr. Maurice Manning, President, Irish Human Rights Commission, on the appointment of the Hon. Judge Maureen Harding Clark as a member of the Irish Human Rights Commission.

I wish to warmly welcome, on behalf of the Commission, the appointment, by the Government, of Judge Maureen Harding Clark as a member of the Irish Human Rights Commission. I believe her vast experience and knowledge will be of great value to the Commission in its considerations over the coming period.

NOTE

Maureen Harding Clark is a Judge of the International Criminal Court and has also served as a Judge ad litem of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. She has experience in criminal and international humanitarian law and particular expertise in the area of sexual and other violent crimes.
