€350,000 Programme Will Support Projects to Advance Economic and Social Rights Across Housing, Health and Decent Work
Organisations across Ireland who work on issues of human rights and equality are being invited to apply to the Human Rights and Equality Grant Scheme 2019.
The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission (“the Commission”) will award small grants of up to €6,000 and general grants of up to €20,000 to support activities in Ireland that advance economic and social rights and equality in relation to the prioritised areas of:
- Housing/Accommodation
- Health
- Decent work
Now in its fourth year, grants are open to civil society organisations from across the country, who can bring forward proposals on promoting the development of economic and social rights across the three thematic areas of housing/accommodation, health and decent work.
For the first time, the development of digital tools and campaigns is now included as an eligible activity for grant support together with:
- Research and legal and policy analysis
- Education and training activities and resources
- Conferences, seminars and workshops
Since 2016, under its grant scheme, the Commission has supported over 80 human rights and equality projects across Ireland including research programmes, training or resource activities, conferences or events and cultural initiatives.
The strict deadline for receipt of applications is Monday 15th April at 5pm and full details of the grant scheme are available on the Commission’s website. To promote awareness of this national grants programme, the Commission will be hosting four regional events with local partners through March starting in Limerick (13th March), then onto Galway (14th March) and Carlow (20th March) before concluding in Dublin (21st March).
