Tarlaíonn idirdhealú ar an bhforas comhaltais den Lucht Siúil nuair a dhéileáiltear le duine le níos lú fabhair ná mar a dhéileáiltear le duine eile, mar gur duine den Lucht Siúil duine amháin agus nach amhlaidh don duine eile.
‘Member of the Traveller community’ is defined as a member of a community of people who are commonly called Travellers and who are identified (both by themselves and others) as people with a shared history, culture and traditions including, historically, a nomadic way of life on the island of Éire.
Pubs, as licenced premises selling alcohol, cannot discriminate on any of the nine specified grounds (Age, Civil Status, Disability, Family Status, Gender, Membership of the Traveller Community, Race, Religion, Sexual Orientation) with respect to entry or service provision under the Equal Status Acts.
Ní féidir le teach tábhairne diúltú duit teacht isteach mar gur ball thú de ghrúpa áirithe a chlúdaítear sa dlí, nó mar go bhfuil tú i gcomhluadar duine dá leithéid, nó mar go gceapann an fhoireann gur duine dá leithéid thú.
Tá dhá bhealach le gearán a dhéanamh faoi idirdhealú tithe tábhairne.
Áiteanna a dhíolann alcól – idirdhealú a tharlaíonn ag pointe iontrála
Claims of discrimination that occur “on or, at the point of entry” to a licensed premises (for example, a pub, or restaurant; or any place that holds a license to sell alcohol) are dealt with in the District Court.
You can access the relevant court forms from the Courts Service. Tá na príomhfhorálacha ábhartha san Acht Deochanna Meisciúla, 2003, arna leasú.
Áiteanna a dhíolann alcól – idirdhealú nach dtarlaíonn ag pointe iontrála
If the claim of discrimination against a licensed premises occurs via telephone or by email (in other words if the claimed discrimination does not occur “on or, at the point of entry” to that premises) then any such claim should be directed to the Workplace Relations Commission.

Any person can apply to the District Court for a declaration that a membership club (not a nightclub) is discriminating.
If it is found to be a discriminating club and it is the first such order made against the club, the District Court can suspend a club’s certificate to sell alcohol for a period of up to 30 days. Dá bharr sin, ní féidir leis an gclub deochanna alcólacha a dhíol.
While a second or subsequent determination that a club is a discriminating club remains in effect, no certificate of registration shall be granted or renewed.
Foráiltear d’achomharc sa Chúirt Chuarda sna hAchtanna agus féadfaidh club iarratas a dhéanamh leis an gCúirt Dúiche ar dhearbhú an club idirdhealaitheach fós é.
D’fhéadfadh go mbeadh costais le híoc as caingne sa Chúirt Dúiche.
Ní dhéanann an Coimisiún um Chaidreamh san Áit Oibre cinntí faoi éilimh faoi chlubanna idirdhealaitheacha.
