Ireland and the Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission published our independent report of Ireland’s compliance with the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (CERD).  This comprehensive report assesses Ireland’s performance on combatting racial discrimination, making over 150 recommendations for State action.

Ireland ratified this UN Convention in 2000, and was last examined by the UN in relation to its obligations eight years ago  in 2011.

This Commission report was provided to UN Committee on the Elimination of experts to inform their questioning of Ireland in Geneva on December 2-3 2019.
