Contribution to the European Commission’s 5th Progress Report on the Fight against Trafficking in Human Beings in the European Union

IHREC as Ireland’s National Rapporteur on the Trafficking in Human Beings has contributed to the European Commission 5th Progress Report on the Fight against Trafficking in Human Beings in the European Union. As mandated by the EU Anti-Trafficking Directive, every two years IHREC reports information and data on the progress made by Ireland on the implementation of the Directive.

The 5th Progress Report covers the period 2021-2023. It presents key trends of human trafficking observed in Ireland regarding victims’ profile, forms of trafficking and traffickers modus operandi. The contribution also reports on the impact of anti-trafficking actions carried by the State, including positive developments and challenges encountered in addressing trafficking in human beings in Ireland.
