The IHRC has today welcomed the Government’s commitment to introduce HIQA inspections in residential centres for persons with an intellectual disability.
This commitment, when fulfilled, will meet one of the key recommendations in the IHRC’s recent enquiry Report on the Human Rights Issues Arising from the Operation of a Residential and Day Care Centre for Persons with a Severe to Profound Intellectual Disability.
