Universal Declaration of Human Rights: Poster

On the 10th of December 2018 the world celebrates the 70th anniversary of the adoption of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights. This Declaration is a milestone document in the history of human rights. Drafted by representatives with different legal and cultural backgrounds from all regions of the world, the Declaration was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in Paris in 1948 as a common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations.

To mark this occasion the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission has produced a poster which illustrates each of the 30 articles of the Declaration. The poster is being issued to every school in Ireland, to use to discuss ideas about human rights in the lives of young people and to discuss the values of equality, justice and human dignity.
