Access Officers

The Disability Act (2005) requires all public bodies to have at least one Access Officer.

Access Officers are a liaison point for people with disabilities who wish to access IHREC’s office space and services.

As per the Disability Act 2005, Access Officers:

“provide or arrange for and co-ordinate the provision of assistance and guidance to persons with disabilities in accessing its services”.

IHREC’s Access Officers have responsibility for IHREC’s services only and cannot provide assistance with accessing the services of any other body.

Where a member of the public has an access query relating to any of the above areas, the relevant access officer will be available to address their query and provide required information in an accessible manner.
