The Quick Exit button helps you exit a page instantly. This keeps you safe and protects your privacy.
You might need this button if a page contains information that could put you at risk of abuse or harm.
How to Use the Quick Exit Button
Every page on our website has a "Quick Exit" button on the right side of the page. Clicking this button closes the webpage immediately. It will be replaced by the Google homepage.
Warning
The page will close. However, someone can still see it by pressing the back button. It will also appear in your internet browsing history.
Viewing and Deleting Your Browsing History
You can improve your safety by deleting your internet browsing history. Be careful, though. Deleting cookies will remove stored passwords for online accounts. You can untick the box to delete cookies and still clear your history. Clearing your history might also make someone more suspicious.
If you need to remove information from your browsing history, try to only remove details about websites you want to keep private.
You can find out how to do that on:
Microsoft Edge
Safari
Internet Explorer
Mozilla Firefox
Opera
Google Chrome
You can also browse websites without storing information like cookies.
Go to the menu, click on ‘File’ and choose:
Incognito on Google Chrome
Private Window on Safari
InPrivate on Internet Explorer
Private Browsing on Mozilla Firefox or Opera
Private Window on Microsoft Edge.
