Between Hope and a Home is a peer-led research project exploring the housing barriers faced by lone parents who were attempting to exit Direct Provision.
Six women with lived experience were trained as peer researchers and carried out in-depth interviews across Ireland.
The research highlighted discrimination in the private rental market, the inadequacy of HAP, inconsistent local authority practices and gaps in integration supports.
The findings have since received national media coverage, been presented to numerous interested groups and informed political engagement, with the peer researchers taking the lead throughout this engagement and advocacy.
