Clare PPN and our community allies have been working on a pilot project: 'Fact or Fiction, building a community led response to mis and disinformation in County Clare' that aims to develop a peer-led community response to mis and dis information.
The project is 2/3rds completed and we hope to have a well-tested model and tool kit for a one and a half hour introductory workshop on digital literacy, critical thinking and managing information suitable for delivery to groups from all walks of life as our key output.
We have already trained 22 peer facilitators over the course of an intensive weekend and they have to date delivered 8 community workshops so far. With attendees indicating that they felt more confident in managing and identifying misinformation following the workshops.
We are now adapting the workshop materials based on feedback from these pilots and will deliver another series using the updated material before finally evaluating the project.
