Maria Joyce is a graduate of NUI Maynooth with a BA in Applied Social Studies and Coordinator of the National Traveller Women’s Forum (‘the NTWF’) which is the national network of Traveller women and Traveller women’s organisations from across Ireland.
As a key representative organisation, the organisation is engaged in a range of policy fora at national and international level to ensure that the needs, concerns, and issues affecting Traveller women are understood and addressed.
Maria has strived to inform Traveller policy development and wider gender policy at national and international level and was also part of the campaign for Traveller Ethnic recognition.
