Áine Bhreathnach is a graduate from UCD. Following completion of university, she worked with FLAC and the UNHCR in Ireland. She worked on the protection of human rights in complex humanitarian emergencies in East and West Africa and the Middle East.
On return to Ireland, she qualified as a solicitor and was admitted to the Role of Solicitors in 2012. Prior to working with the Commission, Áine worked with an award-winning criminal defence practice and in a leading refugee and immigration practice.
Her work in the Commission to date has focused on redress, historic abuse, and compliance by the State with the Race Directive.
