The report, Child Trafficking and ICT-Facilitated Child Trafficking in Ireland, was commissioned by the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission in its capacity as Ireland’s Independent National Rapporteur on Trafficking in Human Beings.
The independent research was conducted through a review of Irish, European and international literature, legislation and policy; interviews with 22 stakeholders from Government, statutory agencies, law enforcement, healthcare, academia, international and regional organisations and civil society; and stakeholder validation of the findings and recommendations.
The report examines child trafficking in Ireland, with a particular focus on the growing role of information and communication technologies in the recruitment, control and exploitation of children.
