This paper reflects on the current state of human rights and equality in Ireland.
It does so against a complex and often challenging backdrop, nationally, regionally, and globally. The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission (‘IHREC’) operates with a wide-ranging mandate, yet none of the issues we address exist in isolation.
The challenges we face, whether they concern housing, migration, climate justice, or access to justice, are deeply interconnected. Our response must be equally comprehensive, coordinated, and grounded in the values of human rights and equality.
