Dr. James Casey is a disabled activist. He holds a PhD in Critical Disability Studies from the University of Galway, where he was awarded a Doctoral Teaching Fellowship. His work spans disability rights, anti-racism, human rights, international development, climate justice, and social inclusion. James previously worked in international development and most recently served as Director of the European Anti-Poverty Network Ireland. He manages a transformative cross-border EU project advancing social inclusion and human rights. Across his career, James has worked to influence policy, strengthen civil society, and promote the meaningful participation of people experiencing inequality and exclusion.
