€350,000 National Programme Calls for Projects to Advance Economic Equality, Promote Climate Justice, Environmental Justice, and a Just Transition, and Promote Awareness of Rights and Access to Justice
The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission is inviting civil society organisations and groups across Ireland working on human rights and equality issues to apply for support for projects under the themes of Human Rights and Equality Grant Scheme 2024-25, opened today.
The focus of this year’s grant scheme will be supporting projects carried out in Ireland that contribute to
advancing economic equality, promote climate justice, environmental justice, and a just transition, and promote awareness of rights and access to justice
Funding is available for small projects up to €6,000 and for general projects up to €20,000.
Now in its ninth year, the Human Rights and Equality Grant Scheme has already funded over 200 human rights and equality projects across Ireland, including research, policy analysis, training, resource-development, conferences, events and cultural initiatives.
Grants are open to civil society organisations, rights-holder and community led groups, and trade unions from across the country, who can bring forward proposals on empowering people to understand and claim their rights and to develop evidence based research and analysis to inform legislation, policy and practice. This includes people and groups at risk of discrimination protected under the nine grounds of Ireland’s equality legislation: gender, civil status, family status, age, sexual orientation, disability, race, religion, membership of the Traveller community and people at risk of poverty and social exclusion (including international protection applicants and migrant communities).
The deadline for receipt of applications is at
3pm (sharp) on Thursday 18 April, 2024.

The Commission is also organising three online Information Sessions on the 2024-25 Human Rights and Equality Grant Schemes on
13, 14 and 20 March 2024. ISL Interpretation is provided at the information session on the 20 March.
