Statement

We mark with sorrow the passing of Sr Stan, who dedicated her life working for the homeless, the marginalised and those coming to Ireland from other parts of the world. A member of the Religious Sisters of Charity since 1958, she worked relentlessly, and without fear, founding and building organisations for the most vulnerable, and responding to the housing crisis and the needs of immigrants and asylum-seekers, often against powerful objections.

Sr Stan’s compassion, conviction and courage in giving voice to the voiceless will long stand as a beacon of hope, inspiring others to act with bravery and justice. She leaves behind a legacy of care, solidarity and transformation.

May she rest in peace, and may her life continue to inspire others to act without fear or favour in increasingly challenging times.
